For this modern day fairy-tale of a runway show, Beccaria graced the stage of the Palazzo Serbelloni with an amazing collection that highlighted her exploration of contradictory visions. Entitled “The Pursuit of Love: A Tale of Contradictions for Modern Cinderellas", in reference to British eccentric aristocrate Nancy Mitford's most famous novel, this Autumn line intermingles both masculine and feminine aesthetics to address gender issues, injecting a heavy dose of tailoring into her original mix and making good use of musculine textiles like gray flannel and tweed.

Notions of opposition do not necessarily come to mind right away when thinking about Beccaria's style, which, quite frankly seems to be destined to turn-of-the-century Russian novel protagonists cursed with a tragic love destiny. Silhouettes at the show felt reminiscent of the romantic era; draped dresses, circle skirts, lacy, embroidered shirts, full lenght gloves, yet, the designer managed to create a magical composition filled with elegance and modern style. In my opinion, it seems like she simply paid a little bit (or a lot!) more attention to the utilitarian needs of her posh clientele.

It is to be mentioned that the overall colour palette evolution of this presentation was impeccable. Very upper class !
